For the second consecutive year, and with steady progress towards excellence and distinction, Delmon Gate has achieved a new accomplishment that adds to its record of excellence and multiple achievements. It has secured a position on the list of the top 50 Bahraini companies, out of more than 200 nominated companies competing for the “Country’s List” for the year 2023.
The Al-Bilad Media Foundation announced its list of the top 50 Bahraini companies for the year 2023 in its second edition, during the ceremony held on July 9, 2023, under the gracious patronage of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, and in the presence of the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Sameer Abdullah Nass, at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel. The initiative targeted more than 200 diverse Bahraini companies and institutions representing over 14 different sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Al-Bilad Media Foundation formed an independent evaluation committee composed of a select group of economists, researchers, and academics interested in improving and evaluating the performance levels of companies. The committee was chaired by Dr. Omar Al-Obaidli, the President of the Bahrain Economists Society, and it adopted a global methodology to evaluate the performance of companies and institutions and identify their strengths and weaknesses.
(Delmon Gate) competed for the (Country Shield) for Corporate Social Responsibility 2022
Among the top 7 companies in social responsibility
In a special ceremony held on the occasion, and under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in the presence of a large number of ministers, ambassadors, representatives of the legislative authority, the business sector and civil society organizations, (Dilmun Gate) competed to win the country shield for corporate social responsibility 2022, out of 75 companies participating in the competitions, of which 26 companies qualified based on their fulfillment of all eligibility requirements.
The Higher Committee for the Country Shield for Corporate Social Responsibility announced at the ceremony the winning company, GPIC, from 26 qualified companies for the competitions, including (Dilmon Gate), based on specific criteria and requirements, including allocating specific percentages of the budget for social responsibility projects, and having a strategic plan for responsibility projects. Social and sustainable development, and measuring the impact of sustainable development projects implemented by the company and reflected on the environment, economy and society, as well as its initiatives to support the social needs of its employees.
The country formed an independent supreme committee for the award comprising 11 members with expertise and specialization in the field of social responsibility. The committee assumed the task of setting eligibility criteria, sorting and arbitrating the applications of the candidates through its subcommittees, and selecting the winning company that met the specified criteria.
Sorting and arbitration of applications took place in several stages, where 7 companies were nominated out of 26 companies, including (BASREC, Al Baraka Banking Group, GPIC, BMMI Group, Delmon Gate, STC Bahrain, Delmon Poultry).
